It's the end of the year already?

I can't believe that the school year is over already. We have had an amazing year all around, and Box Tops is no exception.

Our numbers are finally in... are you ready?

Out of the 246 registered Box Tops schools within 25 miles, Kaysville Elm. ranked

No. 1

Out of the 793 schools registered in Utah, Kaysville Elm. ranked

No. 1

Out of the 99,571 registered schools in the NATION, Kaysville Elm ranked

No. 52

HO-LEE-COW!!! You did absolutely amazing this year!

Please, please, please stay tuned over the summer as there are some huge Box Tops events scheduled, and we will not be in school to remind you. Summer is pretty much an un-tapped Box Tops gold mine, and we should do what we can to make our goal early. This is also a great way to save money over the summer on your grocery bills.

Oh, yeah... our goal. General Mills has increased our goal to 77,700 Box Tops for next year! WOW! That's a lot of Box Tops. Next year the rules are changing to make things more fair across the board for all the participating schools. Instead of us being "judged" by how many BT's (Box Tops) are brought in by the entire school, we are being compared by how many Box Tops are being brought in per student. This will be done by dividing our total amount turned in, by the number of students we have. This year our ratio was approximately 87 BT's per student. In order for us to make our goal next year, this ratio will have to increase to 104 BT's per student.

That's a pretty tall order, so please help us out by staying in the loop over the summer. If you would like to have an email reminder of special sales and Box Tops events emailed to you over the summer, please leave a comment with your preferred email address and I will be sure to email you any new information as I receive it. If you would prefer to send me your email address privately, you can email us at bxtps4drgns@yahoo.com

Again, thanks for all your hard work this year. Box Tops is an extremely important program to our school, and you have made this year a glowing success!

WOW!!!

Well, our Box Tops contests have both ended and we as a PTA are ASTOUNDED by how many Box Tops our school collected!

In our second contest, Mrs. Steele's class proved to be a tough competitor and secured their second win of the year! Congratulations! Mrs. Simonsen's class showed that last minute scrounging for Box Tops can push you over the edge and score a victory for your class. Their class won their division by 3 Box Tops! Both winning classes recieved an "indoor recess box" filled with fun games to play during indoor recesses.

Overall, our school brought in 10,264 Box Tops in the second contest bringing our total to the year to an unbelievable total of 64,085*, that is a dollar amount of $6,408.50! You shattered our previous record by collecting 14,337 MORE Box Tops than ever before in one school year! AMAZING!

Our Grand GRAND total

Our Box Tops submission went a little better than we had expected. We had some students turn in Box Tops after the deadline and we had some extra bonus Box Tops that came from Albertson's. This affected our total, and we ended up with more than we thought. So, without further adieu, here is our actual grand total:

$5,372.40

Way to go Dragons! You really came through for you school! Congratulations!

Stay tuned, and we will start contest #2 after Christmas break. Start saving now... (the prize is great!)

Way To Go Dragons!!

Thanks to all the parents and volunteers that came out to support our school during the Albertson's Box Tops drive. It was a huge success and our school ended up placing 3rd in Box Tops collected during the event.

So far, the class leaders in our school contest are Mrs. Steele's class with a total of 2370 Box Tops tured in; and Mrs. Romney's class with 1069.

As a school we have collected 17,016 Box Tops! And we're only 3 weeks into our contest!!! If we keep this up, we'll be able to keep our title as the top school in all of Utah!

Please remember that if you still have Albertson's vouchers (worth 20 Box Tops each) we are still accepting them. We still have 5 weeks left in our contest so it's still early and anybody can win.

If you've forgotten what the prizes are, they are happily displayed in the Library near the Keva. There is one for the winner in grades K-3, and one for 4-6.

Just a reminder, but please try to clip the Box Tops away from the surrounding packaging if at all possible. We have to pay for the extra weight that this adds when we ship them to General Mills, and as I'm sure you can imagine, with this many Box Tops, that weight adds up fast. (Of course we'll take them any way we can get them, but it would sure help us out.) The other thing we are seeng, is expired Box Tops being turned in. THESE WILL NOT COUNT IN CLASS TOTALS. Please make sure to check the dates before you turn them in.

Keep up the good work Dragons! I will post next week with the updated leaders.

Box Top Market Place

Shopping online is often more convenient than hopping from store to store looking for the best deals. This summer as you start your back-to-school shopping, check out the Box Top Market Place and make it your first choice when shopping online.

First, go to https://www.boxtops4education.com/Registration/Default.aspx and register for the Box Top website. This will allow you to select Kaysville Elementary as your designated school. After you register, you will be able to bookmark or save to your favorites the Box Top Market Place. From there you will be able to shop online at over 75 national retailers including Old Navy, Target, Sears, Walmart, and even Disney. Each store will donate a portion of your purchase to our school through Box Tops.

I have included a link to view all the participating retailers and their donation percentages in the link list at the top-left of the blog.

Please make sure to go to the Box Top Market Place each time you shop. Purchases made at these stores without using the Martet Place links WILL NOT be credited to our school.

Thanks!

About Box Tops

Hi Everyone!

We are so excited for the upcoming school year, and to welcome back all our little Dragons. In the meantime there is still much work to be done, and this includes Box Tops.

Box Tops is a program offered through General Mills to help schools earn money. Each Box Top is worth at least $.10. As I'm sure you can imagine, those small amounts add up fast and can really help our school. Box Tops will be collected throughout the school year. We have two major deadlines to make in order to recieve the funds for the Box Tops that we save. Our first submission day is in October only giving us about 95 days (from today) to collect and organize as many Box Tops as we can.

Kaysville Elementary has earned a total of $16,253 since 2003, including $4,975 in 2007. Obviously, this has been a huge benefit to our students and faculty.

Please remember to check the General Mills products in your pantries and food storage and remember to tear off and clip those valubale little tags. When school starts, your students will be able to earn rewards for the Box Tops they bring in. Why not get a head start over the summer?
